PSTC Communications Training Officer Workshop

Public Safety Training Consultants (PSTC) is proud to announce a 3 day training course for public safety dispatchers, call takers, trainers, and supervisors-hosted by the Billings 9-1-1 Center.

The course will be held October 19-20-21, 2016 at the Billings Emergency Operations Center located at 2300 9th Ave N, in Billings MT.

 

This workshop meets or exceeds APCO/CTO standards. Topics to include: Setting goals and benchmarks for a successful training program; responsibilities of a Communications Training Officer; the vital role of documentation; using and writing standard evaluation guidelines; concepts of liability; setting expectations for your trainee; the benefits of education vs intimidation; motivating the trainee; avoiding liability; conducting successful counseling; and training transition meetings.

Class tuition includes resource documents including "Daily Observation Reports", task lists, and standardized evaluation guidelines you may adapt for your training program. Upon completion, the student will be awarded certificated CTO status.
