Job Description

Gallatin County 911 Communications is currently seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our 911 team. This position requires extensive knowledge of standardized emergency and non-emergency dispatch rules, procedures, and operations. Starting wage is $19.00 per hour plus benefits. Prior dispatch experience is viewed by the Director on a case by case basis, and a maximum of five years dispatching credit may be given to an applicant upon successful completion of their probationary year. For those applicants with 5 years of dispatching experience, your base rate after successful completion of your probationary period will be $24.50 per hour. Gallatin County currently covers 100 percent of medical, dental, and eyeglass insurance premiums for single applicants.

Job Requirements

The required knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, completion of Public Safety Communications training at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy, plus additional courses in domestic violence, emergency medical dispatch, radio operation, and extensive on the job training. NAED Emergency Medical and Fire Dispatch and CPR certifications are required and training will be provided in these areas upon successful completion of call taker training.
